Bless Your Heart

Dear Editor,

In the December 19th, 2025, edition was printed a letter from Lindie Gibson [“Not Jazzed About Jasmine,” Feedback]. All I can say in response is, Honey, your racism is showing. Even your tone sounds like a Southern belle. Your time has passed. Go, Jasmine, I celebrate your individuality and your culture.

A Step Too Far

Dear Editor,

The Trump-Kennedy Center?

Now our president has gone too far. When I first heard the rumblings of the president adding his name to many government buildings, I was shocked and thought maybe he had the authority to do so, but when he said the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts was to become the Donald J. Trump and John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts I was totally outraged. That center was built for a slain president to honor his legacy, not to honor a current president who is a 34-count convicted felon and twice-impeached president. This is a disgraceful act which must be corrected. We as a country cannot let this injustice occur. We must correct this act and restore the integrity of our nation and remove the shameful naming process which has occurred. I am old enough to remember the tragic loss of President Kennedy in 1963 and the effect it had on our country. It was even more tragic that the assassination occurred in Texas right before he was scheduled to come to Central Texas. As a patron of the arts and a former professional actor/singer I am heartbroken. This is not only a slap in the face of JFK’s legacy but an assault on the arts in general. Please send your comments to our elected officials and ask for their support in correcting this egregious action.
