Austin gay men with attitude! We need your participation in a focus group, specifically to gather the insights of the Austin gay male community regarding issues about volunteerism.
Interfaith Care Alliance is a nonprofit organization dedicated to building a community where all people facing a difficult illness will receive loving care and support. For 15 years we’ve been serving people with HIV/AIDS and other serious diseases. ICA has seen a dramatic increase in the requests for care team services over the last few years, and yet the number of volunteers is declining. So, to accomplish our goals, we need to improve volunteer recruitment. ICA especially hopes to attract more men as volunteers. However, to do so, we need to learn what men are looking for in a volunteer experience and how to cater to those needs.
Beyond sharing your thoughts with us, there is no further obligation to donate time or money to ICA. Anything discussed in the focus group will be confidential. The session will last no longer than 90 minutes, and light snacks will be served. The group will be at 6pm on Monday, July 11 at the ICA office, 7215 Cameron. (That’s just north of St. Johns, a block behind John Reagan High School.)
If you can participate, we’d greatly appreciate a confirmation by e-mail at leanne@interfaithcarealliance.org or call 459-5883.
