Austin Opera: Ariadne auf Naxos

Set in a barn in present-day Texas, this production of the Robert Mollicone-conducted Richard Strauss work highlights a conflict between classical musicians from the elite conservatories of Manhattan and Zerbinetta's garish rock band. The voices of this epic are soprano Alexandra LoBianco, tenor Jonathan Burton, soprano Jeni Houser, mezzo-soprano Aleksandra Romano, and – as Master of the Estate – the Chronicle's own Robert Faires.
