Have you ever caught yourself reading a Regency novel and thinking, “This is great, but wouldn’t it be boss if there were more golems and witchcraft”? Well, The Twelfth Enchantment should be right up your alley, then.
The latest from San Antonio historical fiction writer David Liss (The Whiskey Rebels, The Devil’s Company), The Twelfth Enchantment resurrects, among others, the Luddites, Lord Byron, and Mary Crawford, a fictional character from Jane Austen’s Mansfield Park, for a supernatural adventure story set in the early 19th century. It’s a fun, often witty read: Liss brings literary craftsmanship to the fantasy genre, and Janeites will get a kick out of the rehabilitation of Mary Crawford.
Liss will be at BookPeople tonight for a reading and booksigning starting at 7pm.
