Unhand that pen, you office supply!

Yes, citizen, that’s Staple!.

It’s the yearly Independent Media Expo,
the sort of DIY comic-con and
zine celebration instigated and run
by Chris “Uncle Staple” Nicholas
for just about a decade now.

No, it’s already come & gone
because it happens each March –
right before SXSW kicks in, y’know?

But, listen: There’s a decent
exhibition of Staple!-related artwork
been improving the walls at SVT
for the past two months. And now?

Now it’s time for all the posters & the sketches,
the iterations of that Staple-gator mascot
and the covers of some of the many comics & zines
featured at Staple! over the years … to come down.

O! Cry, beloved subculture!

So maybe you wanna catch the graphic display while you still can?

Maybe you wanna head over to Salvage Vanguard Theater
on Sunday, April 15, from 2-3pm, and get you some
free Topo Chico & cookies and chat with Uncle Staple
about the things he’s got planned for next year’s expo?

Middle of a Sunday afternoon, we reckon
that’s not a bad diversion, comic-lover,
not a bad diversion at all
