B Boys, Borzoi, Hotmom

Third Captured Tracks release in as many years, sophomore LP Dudu finds these Brooklyn post-punks steering 15 bursts of choppy down-strokes and mechanical drumming with a commanding and sarcastic semi-monotone sneer. Brendan Avalos’ bass recalling genre godfathers Wire and Gang of Four, the June platter secures the trio alongside modern contemporaries Idles and Parquet Courts. Locals Borzoi and Hotmom blast first. – Greg Stitt
