Blood, Sweat & Teeth: The Gauntlet Trials

NR

REVIEWED By Marjorie Baumgarten, Thu., June 22, 2000

This locally produced documentary about ultimate fighting follows El Paso fighter Dave Rivera as he trains for his first No Holds Barred match in Austin and travels to Macon, Georgia, for the fight. Banned in most states, “full contact mixed martial arts” allows fighters to pummel each other until only one contestant remains. The film contains images of bloody violence and music by local groups Face Plant, the Scabs, J-Robb, LD-1, and Shillla. Several JNHB fighters are also scheduled to be in attendance. The film is produced by Vic Feaszell and Adam Warren (Rhinos), and co-produced by Matt Kordelski (The Least of My Brothers).
