Austin Opera: The Barber of Seville

Rossini’s witty tale of bribery, deception, disguise, and (of course) true love drops us into a forbidden love story between the rich-nobleman-disguised-as-poor-student Count Almaviva (Jack Swanson) and the vivacious-but-orphaned Rosina (Austin native soprano Lauren Snouffer) as they try to escape from the grasping hands of the latter's guardian. With baritone Emmett O’Hanlon as the deviously charming barber, Figaro, and the whole glorious spectacle conducted by Stephanie Rhodes Russell and directed by Gregory Boyle.
