  • Mozart's World Coffee Festival

    This year’s Mozart's free World Coffee Festival will feature samples from the 30 countries that provide the beans for Mozart’s special blends. Guests can taste the sweetness of a Colombian coffee drink brewed with sugar water and served with a chaser of lemonade. And yes, “ Tinto con Aqua Panella” will be served free of charge to the attendees this year. Music and Fun!

      Northern-Southern: Baton

      This is a group show by relay, begun in July of 2020 as a method of socially distancing a community in the height of the pandemic: Artists took turns alone in the space, each adding to the exhibition. Now, as it nears its close, the exhibition resembles a community in which work converses and overlaps.       Oita, Japan, has been one of Austin's sister cities since 1990, and for this special 30th anniversary, the Austin-Oita Sister City Committee invites the greater Austin community to join in celebrating with 30 days of Facebook programming. Tune in every day in April at 7pm for online events featuring local artists and experts touching on traditional and modern Japanese culture. There's a full slate of programs, including a performance by Peelander Yellow, an overview of Oita art, demonstrations of bento boxes and sumo exercises, and so much more.

      Austin’s local climbing gym and fitness center is now offering online classes including training for climbing, yoga, HIIT, and circuit training to keep Austinites mentally and physically healthy.       Dimension Gallery: On the Plight of the Primrose

      In the early 1900s, the evening primrose was central to the debate over the cause of evolution and its inherent mutations. In the early days of March 2020, Austin-based sculptor Laura Latimer has collected rubble from local construction sites to provide the foundation for a fanciful, botanical habitat that contemplates how future mutants might survive in the fragmented ecosystems resulting from nonstop urban development.

      Don't Mess With Texas Art Contest

      The Don't Mess With Texas® Art Contest is officially open! Keep Texas Beautiful and the Texas Department of Transportation invite Texas students in kindergarten through 12th grade to submit their best litter prevention-inspired artwork to be considered for the Don’t Mess With Texas calendar, with the top 14 designs featured. Each winner will also receive a Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.1 tablet, a Buc-ee's gift basket, their artwork framed and returned, and the opportunity to share the work on websites and social media. Teachers representing student winners will receive a $100 H-E-B/Central Market gift card. Submissions must be postmarked by April 24.

      Rejoice, drive-in fans! Doc's is still showing films, with a new “Get out, go home” policy. Purchase everything online, even food and drinks, so you never have to leave your vehicle. They’ll direct you to a spot and you'll tune in on your car radio to hear the film. Concession orders will be placed on the roof of the car, so you don't have to worry about potential unsafe interactions. It's a safe, fun way to get out and see a movie on the big screen.
