Charade

1963, NR, 114 min. Directed by Stanley Donen. Starring Cary Grant, Audrey Hepburn, Walter Matthau, James Coburn, George Kennedy.

REVIEWED By Marjorie Baumgarten, Mon., Nov. 18, 2002

Often referred to as “the best Hitchcock movie not made by Hitchcock," this suave thriller was remade by Jonathan Demme as The Truth About Charlie. The sexual chemistry between Hepburn and Grant, when set against Charade's tumultuous backdrop of shifting identities, makes this movie an enduring favorite.
