Human Meat Pies

1992, NR Directed by Danny Lee. Starring Danny Lee, Emily Kwan.

REVIEWED By Marjorie Baumgarten, Thu., Sept. 2, 1999

Kicking off the first annual Cannibal Film Festival is this Hong Kong gore movie that'll really have you wondering what's in all those exotic-sounding dishes at your favorite Chinese restaurant. Watch out also for the beef jerky and other delectables the Alamo will be cooking up for this brave, new adventure in film programming. The festival takes place over two weekends: Sept. 9-11 and Sept. 16-18. Advance tickets are already on sale, and with a six-movie pass comes a cannibal goody bag complete with a cannibal CD, T-shirt, recipes, and trivia. For more info see http://www.drafthouse.com
