"The Subtext of a Yale Education" and "University Inc."
NR, 85 min. Directed by Kyle Henry, Laura Dunn.
REVIEWED By Marjorie Baumgarten, Tue., Nov. 19, 2002
The program consists of Laura Dunn’s “Subtext of a Yale Education” (1999, 31 min.), which follows the labor strikes at Yale in 1996 from a student's point of view, and Kyle Henry’s “University Inc.” (1999, 54 min.), which uses the closing of the University of Texas' Union Film Program as a paradigm for exposing the true corporate order. Together, the films demonstrate the dominance of big business over education, student power, and workers' rights.
