1999, NR, 77 min. Directed by Liam Mcgrath.
Not reviewed at press time. This rags-to-riches narrative chronicles the true account of Irishman Francis Barrett, a light welterweight from Galway who, without training facilities or financial backing, managed to qualify for the Olympic Games in Atlanta in 1996. Barrett is also a Traveller, a group long-discriminated against in Ireland. Director McGrath uses the medium of documentary to celebrate Barrett's ethnic heritage and his indomitable spirit.
