'Intergalactic Nemesis' Hits the Small Screen

The Intergalactic Nemesis is having the best kind of identity crisis.
Is it a graphic novel? Is it a live performance? Broadway production? A radio show? What about a TV show? Yes, yes, yes.
For years, it's been a shapeshifting beast. As Barry Pineo wrote in 2006:
"What began as a science fiction radio serial done in live installments at Little City morphed into a trilogy that aired on KUT, obtained representation from a New York booking agent, and will open the UT Performing Arts Center 2006-07 season before embarking on a national tour."
Indeed, by the time Robert Faires wrote about Jason Neulander's 2010 run, the onetime lo-fi radio shows turned into a live staging …
"That led to a sequel! Which led to the original serial and sequel being staged in repertory! Which led to a second sequel! Which led to a national tour of the first show! Every time it looked as if this unlikely stage sensation had hit the end of the line, Nemesis would, like the resourceful hero in a cliff-hanger, manage to cheat death and keep going."
After 17 years of such impressive transmogrifying, Nemesis takes it one step further as it makes the splash onto PBS's Arts in Context series tomorrow night (Thursday, April 25, 7:30pm).
Arts in Context is the brainchild of Mario Troncoso, who "produces 12 episodes a year, and each episode is its own creation, eschewing … a standard approach, in order to tell the story of whatever Austin arts entity Troncoso's lens is focused on." Or, in this case, entities: Get up close and personal with the Nemesis crew: Dana Uribe, Chris Gibson, Buzz Moran, Graham Reynolds, and more make this magical morphing marvel what it is.
