Santa Claus Has Blue Eyes
Not rated, 47 min. Directed by Jean Eustache. Starring Jean-Pierre Léaud, René Gilson, Gérard Zimmermann.
The film tells the story of a group of young men in a small French province and their attempts to earn money and meet girls. The character played by Jean-Pierre Léaud (who, in much the same way he did for Truffaut, acts as Eustache's alter ego) discovers that it's much easier to pick up girls from behind the anonymity of a Santa suit. The film was made with film stock given to Eustache by Jean-Luc Godard, who had it left over from Masculine-Feminine and is listed as a co-producer.
