The chase is on as more than 1,000 participants test their endurance (and possibly intestinal fortitude) as they race from ChasePoint to ChasePoint (10 in all) via Capital Metro as part of the world’s biggest urban adventure series. Teams of two will perform “a series of mental, physical, and funny challenges” along the way to the finish line, all while raising funds for Austin-area nonprofit Camp Kesem. It’s been referred to as “a cross between The Amazing Race and Fear Factor,” with past ChasePoints including an underwater relay race, completing a Marine boot camp drill, and even taking cooking lessons with world-renowned chefs. This is the first time City Chase has happened in Austin. Sun., Oct. 3, 8am-4pm. Aussie’s Grill & Beach Bar, 306 Barton Springs Rd., 480-0952. $150 per team. www.citychaseusa.com/events/view/67.
