The UT Longhorns got a good road win last weekend, 2-0 over Stephen F. Austin (14-3-1); the Horns finish the regular season Friday night in Lubbock, against nationally ranked Texas Tech, before heading into the Big 12 tournament, Nov. 6-10 in Kansas City, Mo. – the first time this century that the tournament hasn't been in San Antonio.

The Houston Dynamo edged in on the final day as well; they host Montreal in the Eastern Conference play-in game, 7:30pm Thursday on NBCSN. The playoffs proper begin this weekend in Salt Lake City, Portland, Kansas City, and New York.
Over in Europe, Champions League play continues this Tuesday-Wednesday (various games televised; 1:30pm each day), while the countdown continues to the final World Cup qualifiers, taking place Nov. 13-19.
