Dynamo and Galaxy in MLS Cup, again

The Trinity College men were upset at home in San Antonio last weekend, leaving no Texas colleges alive in the NCAA playoffs. Still, San Antonio will host the Division III final four next weekend, Nov. 30 & Dec. 1, at Blossom Stadium.

It's Houston at Los Angeles, again, in MLS Cup 2012 (Saturday, Dec. 1, 3:30pm). The rematch of last year's title game was set up Sunday when the Dynamo and Galaxy cruised to relatively comfortable two-goal wins over DC United and the Seattle Sounders, respectively. For the Dynamo, that makes four MLS Cup appearances in the team's seven years in the league.

Defending European Champions League titleholder Chelsea may be headed for an early exit this year, after getting pasted by Juventus, 3-0, on Tuesday in Torino. They need a win in their last game, plus a Juve loss to already advanced Ukrainian champs Shakhtar Donetsk, to squeak through into the 16-team knockout round. Barcelona, Valencia, and Bayern Munich all clinched spots Tuesday as well, with eight more games Wednesday, and the group finales Dec. 4-5.
