You wanted the best? You got the best. Austin's own Texecutioners, the founding mothers of modern flat-track roller derby. New York's Gotham Girls, the 2011 Women's Flat Track Derby Association champs. Windy City Rollers from Chicago, No. 1 in the North-Central region. And Bay Area Derby Girls out of San Francisco – a tough team from maybe the toughest region in the nation. Four of the hardest hitting and most skillful travel teams in a two-day, six-bout, round-robin clash. On the line? Bragging rights and the Star of Texas trophy. If that's not enough, there'll be bonus bouts featuring the peewee Derby Brats, Texas Rollergirls' Firing Squad, and Temple's Cen-Tex Sirens. For first-time fans, this is flat track at its finest. For die-hard derby devotees, these are dream match-ups. Expect the roof to come off when the hometown team takes on the champs in Sunday's closing bout.

July 21-22, 3pm Saturday, noon Sunday. Austin Convention Center, 500 E. Cesar Chavez. $15, one day; $25, two-day pass.
