The Austin Aztex got a key win Friday night at House Park, knocking off the first place Laredo Heat, 1-0, on a goal by Kekuta Manneh, to break a five-game winless streak and edge ahead of the El Paso Patriots for second place in the PDL Mid South, as well as a playoff bid. As we go to press Wednesday, the Aztex are in Laredo, starting a brutal five-game stretch to end the season that has them heading to New Orleans this weekend, then El Paso, then New Orleans again for the season finale. One last home game in between: hosting West Texas next Friday, July 6, 7:30pm at House Park. www.austinaztex.com.
