The Texas Stars walloped the Oklahoma City Barons 7-0 in their season opener last Sunday night in front of a raucous 6,000-plus crowd at the Cedar Park Center. Goalie Richard Bachman fought off 21 shots for the shutout, and rookie Matt Fraser (pictured) scored two goals with an assist in the blowout. In Texas' next two home tilts they'll face in-state rivals the Houston Aeros (Friday) and the San Antonio Rampage (Thursday, Oct. 20). Fans attending Friday night will surely take advantage of the 3-2-1 promotion ($3 draft beers, $2 sodas, and $1 hot dogs!), and on Oct. 20, the Stars host their first-ever food drive benefiting the Capital Area Food Bank in addition to it being another 3-2-1 night.
