Alamo Lake Creek will show games on the big screen almost every day, June 11-25; screenings are free, first come, first serve, with brunch menu specials dur­ing games. Alamo South Lamar will show the June 12 England-USA game, also free; reserve in advance by buying a $5 voucher good for your tab during the game.

Austin Sports Tavern (northwest corner of I-35 & Oltorf) has 12 big-screen TVs and a smoking patio... Bikinis (214-A E. Sixth; 6901 N. I-35) will open early for the 9am U.S. and Mexico games, June 11, 18, 22 & 23... Black Sheep Lodge (2108 S. Lamar) is opening early for all matches, with breakfast specials daily and drink specials... Cedar Door (201 Brazos) will be screening all USA matches... Cover 3 (2700 W. Anderson) will offer $2 Dos Equis drafts and $3 frozen margaritas during live games... Crown & Anchor (2911 San Jacinto) will be opening for the early games and serving breakfast tacos. Happy hour will start when the doors open... Cuatros (1004 W. 24th) will show games and is hosting the Austin Aztex watch parties for the three U.S. games... Doc's will be open for all 64 games at both locations (1123 S. Congress; 5207 Brodie) with the full menu, plus drink specials and breakfast tacos for the 6am games... Dog & Duck Pub (406 W. 17th) will open at 8:30am on June 11 for the opening match, with 20-ounce imperial pints for $3.75... DoubleDave's Pizzaworks (7 locations) will show all cup games; the Duval location has $8 pitchers for all games; all other locations offer 2-for-1 pizza rolls for all games and $1.50 pints for 1:30 games... El Arroyo (1624 W. Fifth) will be showing all the World Cup games... El Mercado has new flat-screen TVs at all three locations (1302 S. First; 1702 Lavaca; 7414 Burnet Rd.) and drink specials each day... Fadó (214 W. Fourth) will be open early for every match, with a special WC menu, an online fantasy game, and much more... Jo's Downtown (242 W. Second) will be screening all England matches, plus others through the day... The Lion & Rose (701 S. Capital of TX Hwy.) is open for every game – 6:30am 10 days in a row – with 24 screens (including the restrooms), a special breakfast menu, and half-price appetizers for afternoon games... Nomad (1213 Corona) is showing all World Cup matches on a large projection screen and two TVs, with breakfast options... Opa! Coffee and Wine Bar (2050 S. Lamar) will show all 9am & 1:30pm games live, with drink and food specials during matches... Opal Divine's (3601 S. Congress Ste. K; 700 W. Sixth; 12709 Mopac N.) will play all the 1:30 games at all three restaurants on the big-screen TVs. "If there is enough demand, we will feed it out over the house sound system."... Pluckers (2222 Rio Grande; 9070 Research Ste. 201-C; 3909 S. Lamar) will be open at 9am on June 11-12, 18, 22-23 & 25-29, with breakfast available and $2 beer specials during all featured games! And of course, all the 1:30 games on their many plasma TVs... Red's Porch (3508 S. Lamar) will host viewing parties for the U.S. games and some others, with drink specials, a World Cup kids' menu, and food specials such as fish & chips vs. Frito pie for England-USA... The Screaming Goat (900 W. 10th) is offering $1 beer during all WC games... Third Base (1717 W. Sixth Ste. 210-R, Bldg. 2; 9600 S. I-35 Ste. B-500; 3107 S. I-35 #810, Round Rock) will open at 6am for early games and 8am for 9:30am games, with a breakfast menu and daily food and drink specials, plus rebroadcasts of the day's games during happy hour... Waterloo Ice House (1106 W. 38th) will show games on big-screen TVs... Weirdos (12408 N. Mopac) has 15 big flat-screens, $2 domestic pints, and half-price appetizers...

Some venues are aiming to attract partisan fans; can you guess the nationalities?: Rio's Brazilian Cafe (408 N. Pleasant Valley) will be showing all the games on TVs inside and outside, even at 6:30am, with specials during the Brazilian and American games. BYOB until Rio's gets its liquor license at the end of June... Buenos Aires Cafe (2414 S. First; 1201 E. Sixth) will show all 9am and 1:30pm games (except Sundays), plus the 6:30am Argentina game on June 17... The 04 Lounge (3808 S. Congress) will show all matches except the 6:30am ones, but owner Ben Pezzi plans to have a special plan for Italy's games... Justine's Brasserie (4710 E. Fifth) will host the French delegation every day with croissants and a full bar, with the Chronicle's Claudia Alarcón assisting on weekdays... La Condesa (400-A W. Second) will be screening all Mexico matches, from the opening game throughout the Copa Mundial, with $3 Tecates whenever they're open... Mister Tramps (8565 Research) will host the watch parties for the new Austin chapter of the American Outlaws...

And, here's a weird one: The Media Panel, a media research outfit based on North I-35, is offering to pay volunteers to watch games "in one of our theaters in either 3D or 2D. We compensate our participants roughly $20 an hour." Media Panel swears it's not a scam. See for more info; use WORLDCUP as the password.

3-D options? You can watch all of South Korea's WC matches live on a big screen in 3-D at any of a number of multiplex cinemas in Seoul. Closer to home, ESPN 3D is supposed to launch this week in the U.S. and be available via DirectTV and Comcast.
