The U.S. National Team got off to a great start in the final round of World Cup Qualifying on Wednesday, with a 2-1 win on the road in Port of Spain, Trinidad in a game that was really not nearly as close as the score would indicate. Contrary to what I reported last week, the U.S. did indeed have its first team available for the game, fielding nine Europe-based players who had not been available for the training camps leading up to the game. But the star of the game was 20-year-old Dallas Burn striker Eddie Johnson, who went way up in the air to head home the first goal his sixth in just four games with the national team and used his speed to create threats all day long. The Americans' next game is in Mexico City on March 26.
