The UT Lady Longhorns are playing their best football of the year as the season draws to a climax; they stretched their record home-win streak to 10 games last weekend with a pair of 1-0 wins over Iowa State and sixth-ranked Kansas, both in overtime. Kelly Wilson scored both goals, and senior goalkeeper Alex Gagarin had a dream weekend – not just notching the two shutouts, but also assisting on the game-winning goal against the Jayhawks. The Lady Horns are on the road at SMU as we go to press, before the Big 12 tournament starts next Wednesday, Nov. 3, at San Antonio's Blossom Soccer Complex. The 'Horns will play at either 1:30pm or 7:30pm. For details, see "Soccer Watch Online" or www.texassports.com.

Here are the results from the first weekend of the MLS playoffs:East: MetroStars 0, DC United 2; N.E. Revolution 1, Columbus Crew 0 West: San Jose Earthquakes 2, K.C. Wizards 0; Colorado Rapids 1, L.A. Galaxy 0

Return games are this weekend, with the higher-seeded team getting the home-field advantage this time around. The first three games are on Saturday evening, and the Revs-at-Crew game will be on ESPN2 on Sunday afternoon at 4pm.

Election Day – Tuesday, Nov. 2 – is also the fourth game-day in the European Champions League. ESPN's game of the week (1:30pm, ESPN2) should be a corker, as undefeated AC Milan visits Barcelona, who've been playing lights-out soccer in the powerful Spanish league. The Italians beat Barca 1-0 at home two weeks ago, but should have a harder time this time around in the Catalan capital. See "Soccer Watch Online" for the full lineup.
