The Best Medicine

We admit, when we cooked up the concept for our Interactive issue – Better Living Through Binary – the tongue may have been planted ever so gently in cheek. We are, after all, one of the last left standing in the dead-tree brigade, so a somewhat smirking attitude toward technology is to be expected. But we've been surprised, even inspired, by the stories you'll find in these pages. Okay, maybe a little alarmed, too, by some of the more Philip K. Dickian-sounding advances, which is why we haven't entirely removed tongue from cheek. Then again, if you can't laugh, you might as well be dead, right?
