Four for the Weekend

The Alamo Drafthouse Downtown will screen Werner Herzog's Stroszek on Sunday, Jan. 21, 4:30pm, and Wednesday, Jan. 24, 7pm. On Tuesday, Jan. 23, 7:30pm, the theatre will host the UT Department of Germanic Studies' presentation of Bruno S.: Estrangement Is Death, a documentary about the unlikely star of Stroszek, as well as of Herzog's The Enigma of Kaspar Hauser.

Tonight, Friday, Jan. 19, Dave Meyers' remake of The Hitcher – starring a scary Sean Bean, a fit Sophia Bush, and a dashing Zachary Knighton – opens in Austin. This is notable mainly because it was made around here. For showtimes, see Film Listings.
