High Society

Upward of 1,500 people gathered at Austin Studios on Thursday, Jan. 12, to celebrate the Austin Film Society's 20th anniversary. Brutally long food and beverage lines – the Ruby's barbecue and Tito's vodka didn't last long, but there was beer and popcorn till the end – didn't keep well-wishers from enjoying the relatively no-frills event, which brought founders, friends, and beneficiaries to the stage in recognizing the impact AFS has had on the city's film scene and economy.
