Narrative Feature 'Round Midnight

Red vs Blue's midnight screening at the Alamo sold out after everybody waited in the rain. People in Austin are finally catching on. Cheap is good as long as cheap is funny. Burns et al. showed a slightly shortened version of their first season, appended by a brief episode made especially for SXSW. People love this stuff – not just video-game boys. The colored soldiers miscommunicate irreverently as usual, touching upon what's fundamental to war and wit. What does SXSW stand for? The helmeted gun-toters duke it out. Is it algebra? Or does the "X" stand for Christ? "Whoa. Is this a religious film festival?!" Confusion is comedy, and that Mel Gibson movie is just so hard to resist. But the best part about Red vs Blue is that it's boyish, accessible, living room fun. One gets the impression these boys played a lot of G.I. Joe. I dig it.
