Spy Kids 2: The Island of Lost Dreams: Robert Rodriguez and Co. have returned from location in the West Texas badlands near Terlingua and are currently shooting at the old Robert Mueller Airport for the feature sequel that surely needs no introduction to fans of the Rodriguez/Elizabeth Avellan global domination master plan. As always, the Official Spy Kids Parade of Cameos/Sightings continues with Steve Buscemi, Cheech Marin, Bill Paxton, Alan Cumming, Danny Trejo, and Ricardo Montalban wandering around town when not on set. Autographs, no vampires. Other local productions firing up in February are My Comfortable Stranger, a first-time feature from Austin-based Outlaw 8 Productions, which begins shooting Feb. 16 and will be directed by Fernando Martinez; Blackeyed, a digital short with various Six in Austin crew members on board, directed by Ryan Cox; and The Perfect Man Contest, a digital feature from Austin-based indie filmmakers, including director John McLaine.
