Television series old and new debut in several DVD boxed set collections in time for the holiday season. The Sopranos: The Complete Second Season: Not as brilliant as the first season, but still better than other TV dramas (Warner Home Video, $99.98)... Sex and the City: The Complete Second Season: More adventures of Carrie and company on a three-disc set (Warner Home Video, $99.98)... The X-Files: The Complete Fourth Season: This seven-disc set chronicles what many X fans consider the best season of the series. Extras include a CD-ROM game, Tertia (20th Century Fox Home Entertainment, $119.95)... Fawlty Towers: The Complete Collection: John Cleese stars in 12 episodes of the British comedy from 1975 and 1979 on a three-disc set (Warner Home Video, $59.98)... Planet of the Apes: The Complete TV Series: All 14 episodes from the 1974 series starring Roddy McDowall, available only on DVD, on four discs (CBS/Fox Home Video, $40.98)... Babylon 5: The Gathering (Pilot)/In the Beginning: Two discs include the pilot and the prequel produced between seasons four and five (Warner Studios, $19.98)... Twin Peaks: The First Season (Special Edition): Stars Kyle MacLachlan as a detective investigating a strange murder in an even stranger town. The four-disc set includes the first seven episodes from 1990, although not the pilot. Episode introductions by none other than the Log Lady (Artisan Home Entertainment, $59.98).
