This latest Eastside foodery has freshened up an old concept – the ranch restaurant. Cocktails are served at the glam ranch bar. The chicken-fried steak is tender and well-flavored, the breading is light and crisp, and most importantly, the cream gravy is made from real pan drippings and not from a mix.
The anachronistic friendliness of the service welcomes, while the Breaux Bridge Benedict seals the deal at brunch. Exuberantly rouxed pork grillades over creamy grits may compete at midday, but at dinner the crawfish étouffée rules.
Food truck located at Zilker Brewing Co. serves fried chicken, boneless wings, and sandwiches with a variety of sauces including citrus-miso, sambal, and lemon-Sichuan. Curry and vegetarian options also available.
This friendly neighborhood dive bar serves boozy drinks and Southern eats.
