The constant daubing of tears and clicking of cell phone pics buzzed all throughout the nine separate ceremonies held at this weekend’s Spider-Hitched marriage equality wedding event, Saturday, July 18 at Spider House cafe. Over 750 family, friends, and supporters showed up to enjoy the 10-hour event at the popular north campus creative hub. The patio stage was dressed with flowers, a triple-tiered wedding cake, and rainbow-everything to greet nine couples – of all orientations – present to speak their vows. The tidal wave of goodness and love from the 750 LGBTQIA (especially allies) was palpable and set the tone for the evening’s revelry.
