A rally calling for "Justice for Jackson" attracted between 300 and 400 people on Friday night, Dec. 5. The People's Task Force and Larry Jackson Jr.'s family have been working to draw attention to his case. Jackson, a black man in his 30s, was killed in July 2013 by APD Det. Charles Kleinert. Jackson was unarmed. On the morning of Dec. 5, Kleinert, who has retired from the force, was arraigned on charges of manslaughter. After the rally, protesters marched through Downtown, at one point shutting down traffic on Congress Bridge.
