On Saturday, Austin celebrated Juneteenth, a commemoration of the end of slavery in Texas. This year’s celebration marked the 152nd observation of the holiday; abolition in Texas occurred June 19, 1865, two years after President Abraham Lincoln signed the Emancipation Proclamation.
