Jonathan Demme, the Oscar-winning filmmaker, passed away Wednesday, April 26. A champion of local culture and longtime friend of the Chronicle, Demme was a regular visitor to Austin, Tex. We’ve gathered some of our favorite photos of Demme; for more, read Louis Black’s remembrance in Page Two.
