The city's five Protective Lodges, or "ProLodges," help protect unhoused Austinites from COVID-19 by providing housing and wraparound services, including on-site medical care offered by CommUnityCare's street medicine team, case management from one of several partner agencies, and behavioral tele-health services provided by Integral Care. As of early December, 275 guests lived at the five properties the city has bought or leased for Protective Lodging.
