Black Lives Matter supporters, several of them exercising their 2nd Amendment right to open carry, gathered on the evening of Saturday, Aug. 1 at Fourth & Congress, site of the July 25 killing of 28-year-old protester Garrett Foster. They were met by a smaller contingent of armed counter-protesters. After the BLM group blocked the intersection, they were dispersed by APD and DPS officers, who deployed pepper spray and made several arrests.
