Black Lives Matter and Police Lives Matter Rallies

Competing rallies were held at the Capitol Saturday morning, Sept. 19. A Police Lives Matter rally was organized by former APD officer and current Williamson County Constable Robert Chody to commemorate the death of Harris County Sheriff's Deputy Darren Goforth, while a Rally in Response to Police Brutality was organized by Black Lives Matter Austin.
