Rep. Molly White wants to protect Texas from the UN's sustainability agenda

Bill of the Week

House Bill 1654

Filed: Feb. 19, 2015
Author: Rep. Molly White, R-Belton

Oh boy, here come the angry letters from conspiracy theorists. Ever heard of Agenda 21? It's a pretty innocuous, if overly wordy, United Nations document from 1992, laying out broad, voluntary guidelines for countries to move toward more sustainable policies. Alternatively, if you happen to be part of the John Birch Society, Glenn Beck, a neo-confederate, or Alex Jones, it's the sinister blueprint to steal all private property and embark on a genocidal decimation of the world's population, all in the name of the New World Order. Luckily, Rep. Molly White is here to save the day. Yes, the same White who claimed abortions lead to depression, and demanded that Muslim Americans visiting her office "renounce Islamic terrorist groups." She has filed HB 1654, which will prevent any government entity in Texas from working with any "nongovernmental or intergovernmental organization accredited by the United Nations to implement a policy that originated in the Agenda 21 plan ...." But here's the real kicker. This doesn't put White on the extreme wing of the Republican party. In 2012, the Republican National Committee adopted a resolution rejecting the UN's "plan of radical so-called 'sustainable development.'" Now if she could only do something about those pesky chemtrails ....
