Run-Off Recap

The News Staff brings the election-night skinny

The long march toward single-member City Council districts – for which the first candidate filed in October, 2013 – is finally over: 15% of registered Austin voters have selected Mayor Steve Adler and nine spanking new Council members (and one hold-over, District 9's Kathie Tovo). Since it's the Season for Giving, we'll give some of the 85% of you a pass, if you really were too busy to get to the polls during two weeks of early voting and 12 hours of the final event.

That said – the Chronicle news staff traveled all over town Tuesday night (not by public transit, alas) to bring voters and non-voters the skinny on the candidates, the results, and the watch parties. Some of that we posted online at Newsdesk daily, and the rest of it we offer here. Your choices or not – it's now your City Council.
