Complaints Against Police Decline

By Jordan Smith, July 15, 2011, News

Police Monitor Margo Frasier's office this week released its 2010 annual report, showing a drop in the number of complaints made to the office last year. Of the 753 complaints filed, 227 were brought by members of the Austin Police Department. Members of the public last year filed 89 "formal" complaints – those that are typically more serious and are investigated by the APD's Internal Affairs Division – which is down from 108 in 2009.
