TREEFOLKS' CURSED PICKUP AUCTION BEGINS The friendly arborists over at TreeFolks are kicking off an eBay auction of their Ford F250 truck today, for the starting price of $832 – not exactly a bargain for a truck they've described variously as "unreliable," "evil," "tragically funny," and "an insult to ugly trucks everywhere" (we'd add that "on fire" has also been a fitting descriptor in the past), but perhaps the $832 worth of live oak trees that come with the truck will convince you otherwise. Any bids higher than $832 will be a tax-deductible donation to a good cause. 443-5323. www.treefolks.org.

YOUR THOUGHTS ON LICENSE PLATE DESIGNS TxDOT has come up with 31 potential new designs for specialty license plates for Texas drivers. If you hope to get a not-ugly one next time you want a specialty plate, you gotta go online and tell TxDOT which ones are the keepers. Through July 3. www.txdot.gov/services/vehicle_titles_and_registration/e-view/design_e-view.htm.
