Muni Filings: Race to May under way

By Wells Dunbar and Richard Whittaker, March 14, 2008, News

Consider the die cast, the Rubicon crossed, the pooch screwed. As of 5pm Monday, March 10, your municipal candidates – for City Council, Austin Community College board, and the Austin Independent School District board – sealed their respective fates by applying for a spot on the ballot (or failing to do so). At right is a list of the May 10 candidates; while there are no huge surprises, late-filers popped up in Place 1 and in AISD, 21-year-old Trevor Titman and his platform of relaxed bar hours didn't make the cut in Place 3, and over at ACC, the incumbent board chair decided not to run.
