The Lesbian/Gay Rights Lobby of Texas will hold a rally either today (Thursday) or Monday to either praise or bemoan the U.S. Supreme Court's imminent ruling on the Texas sodomy law. By the time you read this, the landmark decision may have already been announced. If so, head over to Republic Square Park for a rally, starting at 6:30pm. The same time and place will apply in the event of a Monday ruling.

Tonight (Thursday), Police Monitor Iris Jones is holding the fifth in her series of public forums on racial profiling, at 6:30pm, at the Northwest Recreation Center, 2913 Northland Dr. Panelists include APD Sgt. Ernie Pedraza -- head of the Latino officers' organization Amigos en Azul -- as well as Austin NAACP chapter leader Nelson Linder and Josefina Castillo of the American Friends Service Committee, who sits on the Office of the Police Monitor's citizen review panel.

A draft master plan for Travis Co.'s new East Metro Park will be presented for public review Monday, June 30, at Manor Elementary School, 600 E. Parsons St. in Manor, at 6pm. Find out more online at www.tceastmetropark.org.
