Austin Metro Trails and Greenways will host a Town Lake Trail Charrette to plan improvements to the Town Lake Trail. The planning session, in which participants will strategize in small groups, is open to the public and will be held from 9am-1pm on Saturday, April 15, in the Third Floor Training Room of One Texas Center, 505 Barton Springs Rd. The Corporation for Affordable Housing will sponsor a Lenten Forum on Economic Justice on Thursday, April 13, at 6pm. The City Council candidate forum will focus on the Community Action Network and Austin's health and human services delivery system; it will be followed on Friday, April 14, with a march to Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison's office to lobby for universal health care, affordable housing, and to cancel Third World debt. Both events will take place at Our Lady's Family Center, 1817 E. Sixth.   • The Just Say No to the WTO Coalition will host a speech on the World Bank and International Monetary Fund by Dr. Ali Mir, an expert on management and labor in global industries, on Sunday, April 16, at 3pm, in UT's Bass Lecture Hall. The talk is scheduled to coincide with other public education events and protests being held in response to the IMF/ World Bank meetings April 16-17 in Washington, D.C.   • The Texas Young Democrats Convention will be held April 14-16 at the Four Points Sheraton Hotel, 7800 N. IH-35. On Friday, April 14, there will be a reunion fundraiser for the group honoring former Young Democrats, including Justice Oscar Mauzy, former state representative and Texas railroad commissioner Lena Guerrero, at Scholz Garten; tickets are $20.
