UT kicks off The Daily Texan's 100th birthday celebration tomorrow, Friday, Oct. 1, with a conference titled "Journalism and Democracy: Will the Marriage Last?" at 9:30am in the auditorium at the LBJ School of Public Affairs on the UT campus. Capital Metro will hold a public meeting today, Thursday, Sept. 30, regarding changes to its downtown routes, in the O'Henry Room at the Austin History Center, 810 Guadalupe, from 11:30am to 1:30pm. Call 389-7400 for info.

A Triangle Square community meeting to discuss updates on development plans in North Central Austin will be at 7pm Thursday, Sept. 30, in the Stephen F. Austin Building, Rm. 118, 1700 N. Congress.

The Sunshine Project for Police Accountability will host a benefit at 8pm on Saturday, Oct. 2, at the Victory Grill (1201 E. 11th), featuring music by local bands Spirit House and Gambit. Admission is $6; call 471-0979 for info.
