Austin Aqua Festival '96
Okay, you know the drill. It's the same one that's been going
on now for 35 years now: Austin Aqua Festival. Report to Auditorium
Shores starting tonight, Thursday, July 25, for five hours of
music (6:30pm-11:30PM weeknights) on five stages. Wear light cottons,
possibly some sun block, and bring lots of money for the financially
strapped festival -- tickets are $2 with Skipper Pins (available
at all Blockbusters) or $4 without, and children under 12 are
free. Repeat said routine over the following week (note that Friday
and Saturday's schedules go an hour later, extending to 12:30am),
adding in various sundry carnival rides, sports activities, perusing
of arts & crafts booths, and consumption of food. Don't miss
Ray Price, BR5-49, C.C. Adcock, Mingo Saldivar, or any number
of local acts like Derailers, Cornell Hurd, Junior Brown and Don
Walser, and make time for the Night Water Parade on Friday, August
2, which features a small armada of decorated floats and an after-show
fireworks display. Did I leave anything out? Only to check the
full Aqua Fest schedule below or call 472-5664 for more information.
Got it? Fine. Troops dismissed. -- Raoul Hernandez
