Gestalt, a 13-minute blast of youthful adrenaline, onsets with a muscular snare roll from master basher Bryan Davis on "Bottom Feeder" before bassist Zac Ingram’s redline roars loom over head-spinning tempo changes on "Jailbird." Resent's unconventionality manifests on B-side highlight "Rider, Stage Plot, Ego," where Jacob Saheb’s molasses guitar string bends and discordant harmonic breakdown demonstrates power sans power chords.
