Time of the Season

Austin Psych Fest

From a barn on Burnet Road to the idyllic free zone of Carson Creek Ranch near the airport, Austin Psych Fest finally transcends ambition by leapfrogging to institutional status with its seventh incarnation and first to return to a spot it more or less christened. Promoters the Reverberation Appreciation Society – Black Angels Christian Bland and Alex Maas teamed with Oswald James and Rob Fitzpatrick – also just gave their label a storefront in East Austin with RVRB Records, where the next generation of Zombies, Flamin' Groovies, Loop, and the Golden Dawn are hatching. This year, APF's peak lineup opens Hangar 18 of Area 51 for one and all: www.austinpsychfest.com.
