Like Sisyphus, condemned to roll a boulder uphill for eternity, Om's monastic doom-metal dawns slow and punishing – deliberate – steadily plodding unilaterally toward some heightened state. The duo's third LP from 2007 remains its grail, a wandering album of deep meditation, coiling around Al Cisneros' entrancing bass grooves and old-world lyricism. It's Sleep at half the speed and twice the concentration, except, as with Sisyphus, Pilgrimage ends up right back where it started – ready to start again. (Fri., 10pm, Elevation amphitheatre)
